Phobias are extreme and irrational fears that interfere with every day life. Persons with phobias have fears which are out of proportion to real danger. And though these individuals are conscious that their fears are not rational, they’re not in a position to control them.
Phobias are popular and are at times present with other conditions, including panic disorder or Tourette’s disorder. Most folks deal with phobias by avoiding the situation or object that causes them to feel panic (avoidance behavior).
A phobic disorder occurs when the avoidance behavior becomes so extreme that it interferes together with your potential to participate in your each day actions. You’ll find three principal types of phobic disorders:
